Acting Myanmar President attends opening ceremony of Thu Mingalar High-end Market


YANGON: The opening ceremony of the Thumingalar High-end Market in PyinOoLwin town was held on the morning of February 27 and was attended by Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The opening ceremony was attended by Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers Mya Htun Oo, Dr. Charlie Than, Myo Thant, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Myo Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Commander of the Central Command, Deputy Ministers, Mandalay Region Government members, departmental officials, officials from companies involved in the construction of the Thu Mingalar High-end Market, town elders, locals and ethnic cultural groups.

The new Thu Mingalar High-end Market building was opened by Commission Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers Mya Htun Oo, Myo Thant, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Myo Aung, and Mandalay Region Development Minister Kyaw San, cutting the ribbon, and the Acting President opened the signboard of the market by pressing the button.

Students from the National University of Culture and Fine Arts (Mandalay) and the Degree College of Education (Mandalay) performed a dance performance.

The Acting President, the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and the Secretary of the Commission, Union Ministers, the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region and those attending the ceremony sprinkled fragrant water on the monument of Thu Mingalar High-end Market.

The Acting President and those attending the ceremony toured the shops and sales at the Thu Mingalar High-end Market, children playing in the playground, and the cinema, where officials gave a briefing.

In addition, the second part of the market opening ceremony was held at the market multipurpose hall. The Acting President and those attending the ceremony watched a video clip on the history of the new Thu Mingalar High-end Market and the construction status of the building.

The Chief Minister of Mandalay Region presented the Acting President with a souvenir to commemorate the opening of the new Thu Mingalar High-end Market.

The Thu Mingalar High-end Market in PyinOoLwin is designed to become a new high-end market that is in line with the increasing population and tourism in PyinOoLwin, and to become a new RC high-end market that is in line with modern urban development and international standards.

It was built under the guidance of the Head of State to bring together local products and improve the flow of goods in the mountainous region. The new market is a six-storey reinforced concrete building with 12 escalators, six elevators, a solar power system, a security system, a fire prevention system.

Natural disaster resilience systems have been systematically built to facilitate the convenience of shoppers.

The Thu Mingalar High-end Market includes branded shops, a promotion area, a cart shop area, a bank area, a super market, mini-marts, stores, clothing and beauty shops, grocery stores, restaurants, a sports field and a cinema. - Eleven Media/ANN
