MANILA: Sen. Bam Aquino made clear on Thursday (Feb 19) that he has no plans to vie for vice presidency in 2028.

In a Facebook post, Aquino reacted to speculations that he would run for the second highest post in the national government in the next elections.

“I will not run for Vice President in 2028,” Aquino simply said.

Earlier reports are speculating that Aquino might consider being Sara Duterte’s running mate.

This came after Aquino’s previous statement that, ideally, cases related to the alleged extrajudicial killings during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte should be tried in the Philippines.

On Feb 18, Sara announced that she would run for President in the 2028 polls. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
