Seven workers killed in a chemical factory fire in India

NEW DELHI (Bernama): At least seven workers were killed in a chemical factory fire in India's Rajasthan state on Monday.

The incident took place in the Khairthal-Tijara district's Bhiwadi town, about 90 kilometres from Delhi.

Four injured workers were receiving medical treatment, a police official told the media.

The factory in the Khushkhera industrial area was licensed to manufacture garments, but explosives and firecrackers were being produced illegally on the premises, according to local officials.

Most of the workers were believed to have come from the states of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. - Bernama
