PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s tourism industry is set to witness the staging of a prestigious event, the Tourism Industry Awards 2026 (TIA 2026), which serves as the highest recognition platform to celebrate outstanding achievements, innovation, and exceptional contributions by players within the nation’s tourism sector.
The highlight of the event will be the TIA 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation Ceremony, scheduled to take place on 8 August 2026 at Sunway Resort Hotel, Selangor.
The programme is jointly organised by the Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MITDA) and Santai Travel, in collaboration with Tourism Selangor, with the objective of recognising organisations, destinations, products, and individuals that have demonstrated excellence in driving industry growth, enhancing Malaysia’s tourism competitiveness, and supporting sustainable and inclusive tourism development at both national and international levels.
According to Datuk Noor Zaleha Baharuddin, Organising Chairperson of TIA 2026, the awards ceremony goes beyond a conventional presentation event, positioning itself as a prestigious national recognition platform that comprehensively acknowledges the contributions of tourism industry players.
“TIA 2026 is not merely an awards presentation ceremony. It is a prestigious recognition platform that honours tourism stakeholders selected based on excellence, innovation, and exceptional commitment across hospitality, business events, domestic and international tourism, as well as the entire tourism support value chain,” she said.
She further encouraged participation from all tourism industry stakeholders, whether from the public or private sectors, to seize the opportunity to register and take part in TIA 2026.

TIA 2026 is once again honoured to collaborate for the second time with Tourism Selangor as its Official Strategic Partner. In line with this partnership, Sunway Resort Hotel has also been appointed once again as the Official Hotel of TIA 2026, reflecting continued trust, quality, and commitment towards excellence within Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality industry.
