South Korea’s Cabinet passes law revision against abuse targeting Itaewon victims, families

SEOUL: South Korea’s Cabinet on Tuesday (Feb 3) passed a law revision to provide legal grounds to punish secondary victimisation linked to the 2022 deadly crowd crush in Itaewon, central Seoul.

The revision to the special act on investigation and other matters related to the Itaewon tragedy will be declared on Feb 10 and implemented three months later, according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
