Yasin and Tahlil prayers held for Brunei Sultan's late parents and late son

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: In conjunction with the International Customs Day 2026 Celebration, a Yasin and Tahlil recitation ceremony was held for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit, the late parents of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji Abdul Azim at the Royal Brunei Mausoleum, Jalan Tutong.

The ceremony saw the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, followed by mass Tahlil, led by the Acting Deputy Superintendent of Customs Haji Mohamad Junaidi bin Haji Ahmad.

The ceremony concluded with the Tahlil prayer and the recitation of Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Mohammad Harris Brigadier General (Rtd) Datuk Paduka Ibrahim was the guest of honour.

Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) Muhammad Azizil Hakim Brahim along with officers and staff of the department also attended.

The celebration not only commemorated the important role of customs in national development, but also reaffirmed the RCED’s continued commitment to protecting society through vigilance and dedication, in line with the theme set by the World Customs Organisation for this year. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
