5.1-magnitude quake hits Mindanao, Philippines, confirms GFZ


BEIJING (Xinhua): An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted Mindanao, Philippines, at 1853 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.43 degrees north latitude and 123.78 degrees east longitude. 

There were ⁠no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the earthquake.

The Philippines is in the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where volcanic activity and ​earthquakes are common. - Xinhua
