BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Prosecutors play a central role in upholding justice, said Attorney General and Public Prosecutor Datin Seri Paduka Nor Hashimah Muhammed Taib.
She said this during the opening ceremony of the Basic Prosecution Training Course on Wednesday (Jan 7).
Nor Hashimah emphasised the importance to act in the public interest, making decisions fairly and independently, in accordance with the law and based on facts that can be proven by admissible evidence.
The two-day course, organised by the Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers, was designed to strengthen the participants’ professional competence and advocacy skills through structured and practical training.
The course incorporated the Hampel Advocacy training method, which will be utilised for the first time in the training of prosecuting officers from law enforcement agencies, enabling the participants to learn through demonstration, guided practice, and structured feedback to enhance courtroom advocacy skills. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
