Local music legends Exist celebrate fans with their 'Premium Live Concert' at PJ's Jio Space

PETALING JAYA (Bernama): Marking 34 years in Malaysia’s entertainment industry, the band Exist proved the enduring strength and relevance of their music through the Exist Premium Live concert.

Held at JioSpace on Saturday night, the Malaysian music legends' solid performance kept loyal fans captivated throughout the nearly three-hour concert.

After appearing jointly with Slam in Slam X Exist last July, the renowned rock band returned this time with a solo show presented in a more premium format, offering a distinct experience compared with their previous concerts.

Adopting a ‘close up and personal’ concept, the small-scale concert felt special and exclusive, creating a more intimate atmosphere between Exist and their fans.

Lead vocalist Ezad Lazim opened the night with Mama Tolonglah Percaya before greeting the audience and expressing his heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support fans have shown throughout the band’s more than three-decade journey.

"Thank you for always supporting us. Every time we hold a concert, you truly electrify the entire hall - you are real ‘true fans’,” said Ezad.

Exist Premium Live also marked the band’s final concert of the year and was dedicated as a gesture of appreciation to their fans.

In addition to Ezad, Exist - led by Along (guitar), Musa (bass), Ujang (drums) and Ajai (keyboard) - enthralled the audience with the mastery of their instruments, bringing to life 21 songs performed during the concert.

Besides Mama Tolonglah Percaya, the band, formed in 1991, also serenaded fans with their evergreen hits such as "Janji Padamu, Langkah Seiringan, Rahsia Pohon Cemara, Masih Terserlah Ayumu, Dirantai Digelangi Rindu, and Alasanmu (2025 version)".

Fully embodying each lyric, the audience was also impressed by Ezad’s vocal prowess - often praised as having a "cassette-swallowing voice” - despite him being unwell that night.

"Ezad was not well tonight, but for the sake of the fans, he went on with the concert. Otherwise, it might have had to be postponed,” said Ajai, drawing loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

Beyond delivering high-energy performances, Exist also engaged directly with fans, sharing stories behind the recording process and the history of their hit songs.

The night was further enhanced by modern stage visuals and dramatic lighting, adding polish to each performance.

Fulfilling their promise to give back to fans, before closing the concert, Exist gifted Along’s acoustic guitar and a drum set to two fans selected through a lucky draw. -- Bernama
