Thousands join the fun as Nutriplus Run 2025 energises Bukit Jalil in conjunction with Malaysia Sports and Leisure Expo


The Nutriplus Run 2025 was successfully held on Sunday (Dec 21) at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, in conjunction with the Malaysia Sports and Leisure Expo, bringing together runners, families, and fitness enthusiasts in a vibrant celebration of health, wellness, and active living.

The event was officiated by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Minister of Works, whose presence highlighted the importance of encouraging an active lifestyle and supporting community-based wellness initiatives. 

Also in attendance were distinguished guests, including Datuk Mohd Azani Omar, Deputy Chief of Police of Kuala Lumpur, represented by ACP Aidil Bolhassan, Cheras District Police Chief; Datuk Yap Chor How, Group Executive Director of Nutriplus; Yap Chor Wen, Director of Operations of Nutriplus and Dr Vellapandian Ponnusamy, Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Institute (Institut Sukan Negara).

Adding inspiration to the event was the presence of Yuan Yu Fang of O,E Group, SEA Games athlete Yeow Ni Jia, Malaysia’s marathon representative at the recent SEA Games. Their participation motivated runners and reinforced the values of discipline, perseverance, and healthy living through sports.

Yap, in an interview with the media, said: "This is an incredibly proud day for Nutriplus. The entries for the vent were more than expected. It is indeed a grand achievement for us, and it is lovely to see so many people having fun and enjoying the day and the festivity of the event.

"We at Nutriplus are confident of achieving more success with this kind of family event. I believe there is a strong possibility for our company to continue this event annually.

"It gives us much honour to share this kind of wonderful day with so many people in a place like Bukit Jalil. Such an event also helps nurture young and upcoming talents who can represent the country in future top events."

In line with its commitment to inclusivity, Nutriplus Run 2025 also welcomed the participation of several organisations representing Persons with Disabilities (OKU), including Persatuan BikeisAble, Persatuan Kasih OKU, and Persatuan Pelari OKU Kura2. 

Meanwhile, top local marathon runner Yeow Ni Jia said he welcomed such an event that promotes a healthy lifestyle and also an arena for many young talents to nurture themselves for future events.

"This is really a fun outing for many people, too. They enjoy a day out with their families and friends. We need more events such as these to promote a healthy life and also gain more talents for the country's marathon aspirations," said Yeow.

Their involvement reflected the organiser’s dedication to promoting inclusive sports and ensuring that active living opportunities are accessible to all segments of society.

The event was further supported by industry partners and co-sponsors of the Nutriplus Run, including Eddie Saw (US Potatoes), Sharifah Durrah (California Raisins), and Ethan Kao, General Manager of Footer.

As the title sponsor of Nutriplus Run by Air1can, this event marked Nutriplus’ first time sponsoring the run, featuring multiple race categories (15km, 10km, and 5km) suitable for runners of all fitness levels. Participants enjoyed attractive goodie bags, interactive booths, and engaging activities throughout the expo grounds, creating a holistic sports and wellness experience.

Project Director of Nutriplus Run by Air1can, Ruth Loh, expressed her sincere appreciation to all sponsors and partners for their invaluable support and collaboration, noting that Nutriplus’ first-time sponsorship made the success of the event even more meaningful.
