Malaysian singer Nourul overcomes health issues and is now back with solo concert set for April 17 at Zepp KL

Malaysian singer Nourul Depp believes in being brave in facing any hurdles, and that philosophy has helped her to overcome the many health issues that she has faced over the years.

Nourul, whose real name is Noorulhuda Abdul Wahab, recently revealed that she went through some tough times five years ago, and she even had to undergo surgery to remove her uterus and ovaries following a cancer diagnosis in 2018.

But the 48-year-old well-known singer said she was, however, very grateful for all the support she had received from her family and friends, and also was very glad to have taken early treatment steps before the cancer became more serious.

"As soon as I found out I had cancer, the doctor recommended a six-month HPV vaccine because it is commonly given to women with problems related to the uterus.

"But after that period, the cancer kept recurring and attacking until it changed from pre-stage to Stage One. This happened simultaneously with Isabella's pregnancy (her fourth child).

"If the situation had been worse, I wouldn't have been able to get pregnant," she said during at the press conference for her 'For You: Nourul Concert', here.

She explained that the decision to have surgery was made after further examination confirmed that cancer cells were still present.

"I did another analysis, and it turned out it was indeed cancer. So, I decided to remove my uterus and ovaries," she said.

“I'm more careful now. That's why I do health checks every year. Right now, I am now cancer-free without chemotherapy,” he said.

Nourul, at the same time, did not deny the extreme pressure she also faced after being cheated by a local company in 2018 was one of the causes of the cancer.

“The company was supposedly ready to invest RM80,000 to sponsor my French-language album. But I had to spend my own money first to produce the album.

“I never thought that I would be cheated by the company. They disappeared and to this day I have not even received the RM80,000. That was one of the biggest trials of my life,” he said. "In the end, my husband paid for all the cost of the project."

However, the mother of four is grateful that the early diagnosis allowed for immediate treatment.

"That's why I have a health check-up every year. Praise to god,, now I'm cancer-free without having to undergo chemotherapy," she said.

In other news, Nourul will be returning to the big stage with a special solo concert to celebrate her career and her involvement of more than three decades in the music industry.

“This concert is a gift to fans, industry partners, and all Malaysians who have supported my work for over 30 years. It is not just a concert, but a celebration of the life, perseverance, and artistic evolution that shaped who he is today. My team and I want the audience to experience that journey — visually, emotionally, and musically,” said Nourul.

Organised by Rong Geng Entertainment, the “For You: Nourul” will take place at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on 17 April next year. Tickets went on sale on December 2 via the ticket2u website. Tickets for the concert are priced at RM105 (GOLD), RM155 (DIAMOND), RM255 (PLATINUM) dan RM355 (VIP).
