PHNOM PENH: An Indonesian woman was deported to her home country on December 2 in connection with human trafficking and drug offences, following a joint investigation by the police forces of both nations.

The arrest was conducted after information was received from the Indonesian police, based on an Interpol Red Notice issued on March 12. The operation was carried out by the General Commissariat of National Police, in collaboration with specialised Indonesian police officers and the Preah Sihanouk provincial police.

The woman was identified as Astutik Dewi, a 42-year-old Indonesian national. She was arrested at the Novotel Hotel in the capital of Preah Sihanouk province.
