Evergreen singer-actress Erra Fazira revives ‘Cinta Abadi’ after 32 years to mark her upcoming marriage on Dec 12

KUALA LUMPUR: Renowned singer and actress Erra Fazira is set to re-energise the local music scene with a brand-new recording of her iconic classic hit, "Cinta Abadi", originally released in 1993.

Composed by Razman with lyrics by Habshah Hassan, the song returns in a refreshed 2025 version to commemorate a meaningful moment for Malaysia’s beloved pop princess.

In this 2025 rendition, Cinta Abadi receives a modern musical upgrade and will not only be released in a single arrangement but also as a special piano version, offering listeners — especially Erra Fazira’s fans—an emotional, intimate listening experience.

The new rendition of the song is also to celebrate Erra's upcoming marriage with businessman Ezwan Zain on Dec 12.

For the record, Erra was previously married to businessman Engku Emran on Oct 25, 2007, but they divorced on Feb 18, 2014. They share a daughter, Engku Aleesya, who is now 16. Before that, Erra was married to singer Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim in 2003, but the couple divorced in 2006.

During a special press conference in KL, Erra said this time around, her third marriage will be a quieter affair and will be mostly celebrated with close friends and family members.

"I believe it will be a simpler affair this time. Neither my fiancee nor I are young people, and it is not our first marriage. I haven't even announced the venue yet. It is a much smaller scale this time around, but will be held with family members and close friends in KL," said Erra at the press conference.

The idea to revisit "Cinta Abadi" came from Erra Fazira’s management team, MindOrder, who saw it as a meaningful gift to fans who have long awaited new music from the celebrated star.

Erra Fazira describes "Cinta Abadi" as a deeply special piece in her career, marking her emergence as a singer in Malaysia. Beyond its romantic melody that suits her vocal character, the song represents the beginning of the Erra Fazira legacy.

“This song is now 32 years old. Who would have thought that more than three decades have passed? Yet every moment of recording this song remains vividly in my memory. I still remember the chills during my first-ever recording session in Singapore. I was only 19 and extremely nervous.

“This song introduced my name to the industry and elevated the Erra Fazira brand as a singer. I received so many performance invitations simply because this song became a phenomenon among local listeners.

“So, when MindOrder proposed the idea of re-recording it, I didn’t hesitate. I know how many fans truly love this song, and I believe this new version will be a beautiful way to ease their longing for my voice today through a classic melody they once cherished,” she said.

In addition to the new recording, "Cinta Abadi 2025" also comes with a beautifully crafted music video, designed to complement the song’s emotional depth and serve as part of the overall marketing plan to reintroduce it to today’s audience.

The music video was filmed at Hotel Royal Chulan Cherating Villa & Chalet, fully sponsored by Pos Malaysia.

Erra Fazira added that the entire music video evokes a sense of beauty and romance, featuring twilight beach scenery that sets a unique emotional tone for viewers.

“The storyline is made even more complete with the appearance of singer Naqiu in the music video. I truly enjoyed the experience, and I believe fans will appreciate what we aim to convey,” she said.

“Cinta Abadi 2025” and the Piano Version will be available on all digital platforms starting November 28.
