One dead and another 15 people trapped in stone mine collapse in northern India


NEW DELHI (Xinhua): At least one person died and around 15 were trapped under the debris when a portion of a stone mine collapsed in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, confirmed the local police on Sunday.

The incident occurred late on Saturday evening in the state’s Sonbhadra district. Rescue operations have begun to bring out those trapped, the police added.
