Brunei and Thailand reaffirm strong defence ties

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof attended the Defense & Security 2025 Exhibition held until Nov 13 at the IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Centre, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand.

The delegation from the Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam comprised Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) Brigadier General Aldi Hassan and officers from the Ministry of Defence.

The Defense & Security 2025 Exhibition, now in its 12th edition, remains one of Asean’s leading tri-service defence and internal security platform.

Guided by the theme ‘The Power of Partnership’, the event convened global defence and security stakeholders, including defence and deputy ministers and chiefs of Armed Forces, to strengthen cooperation, share expertise, and deepen industry engagement.

Endorsed by the Thai Ministry of Defence and the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the 2025 edition gathered 617 exhibiting companies, 25 national pavilions, and 289 delegates and key decision-makers from 35 countries, reinforcing its position as a premier platform for industry collaboration and strategic dialogue.

The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II also held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Defence of Thailand General Nattaphon Narkphanit, and congratulated him on the successful hosting of the Defense & Security 2025 Exhibition, as well as discussed strategic and regional matters of mutual interest.

Both ministers also reaffirmed the close defence relations shared between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand and reiterated their commitment to further strengthening defence cooperation. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
