YANGON: Action has been taken against Director Thet Lwin aka Zambu Htun Thet Lwin and Director Aung Chan Lu aka Aye Chan Aung under the Law on the Protection of Multiparty Democratic General Elections from Obstruction, Disruption and Destruction.
The government is working to successfully hold the multiparty democratic general election on December 28, 2025 in order to implement the multi-party democracy system.
In order to prevent the election from being disrupted by various means, the Law on the Protection of Multiparty Democratic General Elections from Obstruction, Disruption and Destruction was enacted on July 29, 2025, and effective action is being taken against those who do not comply with the law.
In this regard, on October 29, 2025, Director Thet Lwin aka Zambu Htun Thet Lwin and Director Aung Chan Lu aka Aye Chan Aung were arrested from their respective homes for supporting the supporters of terrorist organisations abroad and fugitives who wrote false criticisms on social media on the election awareness story “Khit Thamine Ko Done Sai Mae Thu Myar” and the artists who played in the story.
Investigations into the arrests revealed that they did not support the military in carrying out its duties in accordance with the 2008 Constitution and had participated in riots and demonstrations.
They also did not participate in the art sector, which they are skilled at, to ensure the success of the upcoming multiparty democratic general election.
In addition, it was found that they supported the supporters of terrorist organisations abroad and fugitives who wrote false criticisms on social media about the artists, who were working tirelessly to ensure the success of the election, announced the information team of the National Defence and Security Council.
In addition, the statement stated that they have consistently supported the false and fabricated statements on social media pages of foreign-influenced organisations and individuals, including exile media that do not want stability.
Therefore, it has been announced that effective action will be taken against Thet Lwin aka Zambu Htun Thet Lwin and Aung Chan Lu aka Aye Chan Aung, who supported the media and foreign-influenced organisations and those who incited people to mislead the public about the multi-party democratic general election, under the Law on the Protection of Multiparty Democratic General Elections from Obstruction, Disruption and Destruction, and criminal laws. - Eleven Media/ANN
