BND6.76 million collected in Brunei as Gaza fund extended

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A total of BND6,755,890.28 has been collected under the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023, which has now been extended for another six months until April 18, 2026, to allow the public to continue contributing in support of the Palestinian people.

This is with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

According to a statement issued by the Secretariat of the National Committee of the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023, donations can continue to be made through the existing collection platforms.

These include SMS Brunei Prihatin, managed by Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST), Progresif Sdn Bhd and Imagine Sdn Bhd; donation boxes placed at mosques, suraus, places of worship, public buildings and commercial premises in cooperation with the Association of Banks; and through charity events organised for fundraising purposes.

As of Oct 15, 2025, BND1,399,545.00 from the fund has been used to deliver humanitarian aid in the form of ready-to-eat meal packets to Palestine via air-drop missions conducted from March 13 – 15, 2024.

The remaining balance stands at BND5,356,345.28. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
