Blood Brothers and Ejen Ali 2 continue their transcend into the limelight with major nominations at the Malaysian Film Festival


Two major works produced by Primeworks Studios, Blood Brothers: Bara Naga and Ejen Ali The Movie 2, each of which proved the superiority of local production in producing works with solid storytelling and international-class cinematic visuals.

In fact, five major content productions and distributions of Media Prima and Primeworks Studios continue to prove their superiority on the industry stage by receiving prestigious recognition at the 34th Malaysian Film Festival (FFM34).

This achievement not only highlights the strength of high-quality production and storytelling but also reflects the continued commitment of both entities in elevating the prestige of local content to a level comparable to international standards.

Among the works that stole the show at FFM34 were three TV3 productions, Fail Mahkamah: Derita Zara, Fail Mahkamah: Rindu Tak Berpenghujung, and Majalah 3: Nadi Peralihan Tenaga, which featured the power of a reality-based narrative and were full of humanitarian messages and inspirational values.

This nationally acclaimed animated film not only created an extraordinary phenomenon with the highest grossing record in local cinemas, but also continued to strengthen its reputation when it topped the nominations in 3 categories at FFM34. Among the categories contested include:

Being one of the most dominant films of the year, Blood Brothers: Bara Naga, directed by Syafiq Yusof and Abhilash Chandra, continues to dominate the FFM34 stage with nominations across the main categories, an achievement supported by the film's box-office success and the warm reception from audiences and critics.

This documentary takes viewers on a journey through the true story of a woman who overcame hardships and challenges while fighting for justice in a legal system full of obstacles. Court Files: Zara's PAIN was nominated in the Best Documentary category at FFM34 as a tribute to the heartfelt narrative and courage of storytelling that highlights human values, while also showing how documentary art can be a voice for the marginalized and touch the hearts of society.

COURT FILES (FAIL MAHKAMAH): RINDU TAK BERPENGHUJUNG - TV3 / Primeworks Studios

Raising a true story that touches the heart, this documentary opens up a new perspective on the reality of the legal world and the struggle for justice. Rindu Tak Berpenghujung stands out through its honest and empathetic storytelling approach, thus qualifying it to receive a nomination in the Best Documentary category at FFM34 in recognition of the production team's courage and sensitivity in highlighting real humanitarian issues.

MAJALAH 3: NADI PERALIHAN TENAGA - TV3 / Primeworks Studios

This special episode published in conjunction with the anniversary celebration of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) examines the journey and strategy of the country's energy transition, including the implementation of renewable energy initiatives and the direction of sustainable development for the future. The nomination for the Best Documentary category at FFM34 recognizes the efforts of the Majalah 3 team in producing impactful content that is informative and educational.

This success once again emphasises the commitment of Media Prima and Primeworks Studios in strengthening the country's creative landscape, not just producing entertainment works, but making it a platform to convey messages, values, ​​and inspiration to the community.

The FFM34 Awards Night will take place on Nov 1, at 8.30pm, witnessing a clash of the country's best works in celebrating the greatness of local cinema. This prestigious awards ceremony will be broadcast live on TV2 RTM and the official FINAS YouTube channel, allowing film industry fans to witness the event that recognises the talent and dedication of Malaysian artists.
