Indonesia appoints Iman Hascarya Kusumo as Ambassador to Malaysia


JAKARTA: President Prabowo Subianto has formally appointed R.M. Iman Hascarya Kusumo (pic) as Indonesia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia.

The appointment, made on Wednesday (Oct 8) during a ceremony at the State Palace in Central Jakarta, marks the start of Iman's posting, alongside nine other ambassadors representing Indonesia worldwide.

The ceremony was broadcast live on social media, with Prabowo and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka congratulating the newly appointed envoys.

Prabowo stressed that his government remains committed to boosting Indonesia's global diplomacy, expanding strategic partnerships, and defending national interests in a rapidly changing international political and economic environment.

Iman, a non-career diplomat, previously served as Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team deputy treasurer during the 2024 presidential election. - Bernama
