YANGON: The Yangon–Nay Pyi Taw–Yangon DEMU Aircon Express Train will add new round trips starting October 9, according to officials from Myanma Railways.
Currently, the DEMU trains No. 8 (Yangon–Nay Pyi Taw) and No. 7 (Nay Pyi Taw–Yangon) operate daily. From October 9, two more services — Train No. 32/31 — will be introduced using Spanish-made air-conditioned coaches.
The new Train No. 32 will leave Yangon at 6:00 a.m. and reach Nay Pyi Taw around 11:30 a.m., while Train No. 31 will depart Nay Pyi Taw at 6:00 a.m. and arrive in Yangon around 11:30 a.m. The existing trains at 12 noon will continue to operate using Japanese-made coaches.
The new express train will stop at Toegyaungkalay, Bago, Pyu, Taungoo and Pyinmana stations. Ticket prices are set at 19,000 kyats (US$9) for First Class and 28,000 kyats (Upper Class) for the full Yangon–Nay Pyi Taw route. - Eleven Media/ANN
