MANILA: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has long been aware of reports about alleged attempts by certain factions to push for a coup d'état, but Malacañang on Tuesday (Oct 7) said he is not alarmed and continues to trust the loyalty of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

According to the Philippine News Agency (PNA), Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President was informed about the matter even before the Sept 21 protest actions.
