‘Blood Moon’ to be visible in Cambodia on Sunday (Sept 7) night

PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times): This weekend, a total lunar eclipse, when the moon is almost completely covered by the Earth’s shadow, will occur, and many countries will be able to see it from beginning to end, including Cambodia.

If the sky is clear, the lunar eclipse will be visible from countries in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Western Pacific.

In Cambodia, we will be able to see the phenomenon starting at 11:30 p.m. on September 7 until 3 a.m. on September 8.

The last time a total lunar eclipse was visible in Cambodia was in November 2022.

It will be the longest total lunar eclipse since 2022.

During the eclipse, the moon will appear red, which is why it is often called a blood moon. It appears that way because of the scattering of sunlight in Earth’s atmosphere. - Khmer Times
