MANILA: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr penned a sweet message for his “first and only lady,” First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, on her birthday on Thursday (Aug 21).
“Happy birthday to my first and only lady, Liza,” Marcos said in a social media post, along with a photo collage of him and Araneta-Marcos.
“You have been my partner through everything — a loving mother to our boys, a brilliant lawyer and teacher and now a tireless First Lady who gives so much of herself to others,” the President also said.
He also added, “Thank you for all that you do and all that you are. We love you very much.”
The First Lady is celebrating her 66th birthday on Aug 21.
According to the President’s website, the couple met in New York City while studying and working there as a lawyer in 1988.
They got married at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy on April 17, 1993. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
