Van and pick-up vehicle collision leaves four women dead, 10 injured in India's Rajasthan

NEW DELHI: Four women were killed and ten persons injured in a collision between a van and pick-up vehicle near Hindon city in the Karauli district of Rajasthan on Friday (July 25).

According to Karauli District Collector Neelabh Saxena, a group of villagers was returning to their native Vanki-Beda by the ill-fated van from a nearby place when a speeding pick-up vehicle hit their vehicle head-on near Gudla village on the Karauli – Hindon Road.

While the four women, residents of nearby villages, died on the spot, 10 persons injured in the accident were admitted to the District Hospital in Karauli.

The Collector spoke to the incharge medical officer of the hospital to inquire about the injured. The condition of two of them was stated to be critical.

The accident also caused traffic jams on the road for some time, Police officials rushed to the spot to clear the road. - The Statesman/ANN
