Japan says 'extremely regrettable' Japanese national was found guilty in China


TOKYO:Japan's senior government spokesperson said on Thursday (July 17) that it was "extremely regrettable" that a Japanese national had been sentenced to 3-1/2 years in prison in China on espionage charges.

Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Kazuhiko Aoki (pic) did not mention the Japanese citizen's name or affiliation, but Japanese media reported he was an employee of Astellas Pharma. - Reuters
