HANOI (Vietnam News/ANN): Japan's Osaka was voted the world's most attractive tourism city this year, according to a report by Yanolja Research, a global research institute specialising in the travel and tourism industry.

The Yanolja Attractiveness Index ranks the appeal of 191 major global tourism cities based on social media data and tourist feedback.

This index reflects how tourists perceive and evaluate the charm and popularity of each destination.

It is generated through sentiment analysis and measures the volume of positive and negative mentions associated with key tourism-related terms, using social media data collected in 14 languages.

Osaka, known for its vibrant urban culture, historical landmarks, and exceptional cuisine, offers a rich variety of experiences for all types of travelers. The city’s upcoming role as host of the World Expo 2025 has further boosted its international reputation.

Often referred to as "the kitchen of Japan," Osaka is famous for its dynamic street food scene, particularly takoyaki and okonomiyaki.

It is also known for its lively nightlife, friendly locals, distinctive shopping districts, and cultural attractions such as Osaka Castle and Dotonbori.

Paris came in second, followed by Kyoto.
