Over 1,000 cars came together in a historic gathering at Sepang International Circuit, setting a new Malaysia Book of Records title for the Largest Sports and Classic Car Assembly at Sepang.
SEPANG: The inaugural Malaysia Auto & Lifestyle Festival 2025 (MALF 2025) wrapped up its three-day run with great success recently attracting over 20,000 local and international automotive enthusiasts and featuring a showcase of approximately 1,800 vehicles from a wide range of brands.
The festival made headlines by officially setting a new Malaysia Book of Records entry for the “Largest Gathering of Sports and Classic Cars in Sepang International Circuit,” with a total number of 1000 cars assembled.
The recognition ceremony, held at Sepang International Circuit, was officiated by MALF Organiser Jon Tan and Coordinator Datuk Alex Goy, who jointly received the certificate from Edwin Yeoh, Operations Manager at Malaysia Book Of Records.
In his speech, Jon Tan expressed his gratitude to all involved, stating that the achievement reflected the team's dedication and the strong support received from various sectors.
He emphasised that MALF 2025 is not only a celebration of the automotive community but a multicultural showcase and a platform to promote Malaysia’s best to the world.

Jon Tan added that the festival incorporated cultural dance performances, diverse food stalls, and enthusiast car displays—showcasing Malaysia’s vibrant diversity and energy.
“With plans to bring the event to an international scale, the organisers aim to make MALF a flagship event contributing to Visit Malaysia Year 2026 by attracting more international visitors.”
Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), said that the festival also attracted international visitors from Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, thereby strengthening regional ties and promoting Malaysian culture and tourism.
“The organisation of MALF2025 not only celebrates the excellence of the motoring world but also serves as a significant promotional initiative in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026). This aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration to further strengthen the nation’s tourism sector,” said Datuk Shaharuddin.

A major highlight of the festival was the Legends Of Speed segment showcasing Malaysia’s rich throve of racing champions and winners.
- Fairuz Fauzy, former Formula 1 & A1 GP driver, highlighted the importance of using proper race tracks for safety, stating, “The public road is not a racetrack. Only use official circuits like Sepang to race safely.”
- Zen Low, a successful GT and LMP racer, spoke on the challenges of securing sponsorships but also the potential of social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok for building a racer's personal brand.
- Tengku Djan, known as the “Prince of Drift” and one of the pillars of motorsports in Malaysia, emphasised on the importance of self-discipline and dedication to the craft.
- Karamjit Singh, known as the “Flying Sikh” and Malaysia's superstar rally driving star, also shared his experience and challenges racing on the world stage.
- Alex Wong, Malaysia’s most successful Jet Ski racer took the audience behind the scenes of racing, into team management and sponsorship hurdles.
- Sonny Soh, the only two-time Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion made a rare appearance and thrilled the audience with stories of his racing struggles and success from the 70s
- Akash Nandy, youngest winner of Asian Lemans LMP2 racing, elaborated on how competitive racing has become today with only milli-seconds separating the grid.
