YANGON: Myanmar and China held discussions on enhancing collaboration in science and technology development, among other matters.
Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, who was in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, to attend a conference, met with Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, on June 10.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in advancing science and technology, human resource development, joint research initiatives, AI technology applications across various fields, and the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between universities of the two countries.
Following the discussions, the Union Minister visited the technology exhibitions displayed at the second Belt and Road Initiative Science and Technology Exchange Conference.
On the morning of June 11, the Union Minister also attended the opening ceremony of the second Belt and Road Initiative Science and Technology Exchange Conference.
Later, he participated in the Goals and Practice of Poverty Alleviation Forum and joined the Ministerial-Level Meeting on Science and Technology Exchange and the Belt and Road Initiative. - Eleven Media/ANN
