Four dead including toddler and another five injured in tragic road crash in central Philippines


MANILA (Xinhua): Four people have been killed, including a one-year-old child, and five others injured, one critically, in a road crash in Ormoc City in the central Philippines, the police said Monday.

The police said the crash occurred at around 7.45pm local time Sunday along a highway when a truck veered into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming motorcycle and a multi-cab, a light-duty vehicle commonly used for public transport in the Philippines.

According to the police, the impact of the crash instantly killed the driver of the motorcycle, his wife, and their one-year-old son.

The driver of the multi-cab also died, and his family members, including his wife and three children, sustained injuries.

The police said a woman in the passenger seat of the truck was also injured.

The truck driver is in police custody as the investigation continues. - Xinhua
