Four dead and one critically hurt in village hall shooting near Philippines' south Manila


MANILA (Bernama-Xinhua): Four people, including the gunman, were killed and another was critically injured in a shooting incident on Monday morning in Cavite province, south of Manila, local police said.

The shooting occurred at around 8am local time in front of the village hall in Dasmarinas City during a flag-raising ceremony, according to the police.

Officers arrived at the scene and found four men suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. A woman was also injured and is reported to be in critical condition.

Three of the deceased were village officials, the police said.

The gunman, identified as a 50-year-old former village watchman, reportedly shot himself after killing the three officials.
