MOSCOW (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti): Russian rescuers have completed an international rescue operation in Myanmar, with the last group of rescuers returning to Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said on Tuesday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, with tremors felt in Bangladesh, India, Laos, China and Thailand.
The death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar has reached over 3,700 and more than 5,000 people have been injured.
"Russian rescuers have completed an international rescue operation in Myanmar. The last group of Russian EMERCOM rescuers is returning to Moscow from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
"There are 50 rescuers and doctors on board the IL-76 aircraft," the ministry said on Telegram. -- Bernama
