Laos, Vietnam to enhance cooperation in technology, innovation


VIENTIANE: Laos and Vietnam have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their collaboration in technology and innovation, aiming to maximise the potential of their human resources.

According to a report from the Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications on Friday (April 4), the agreement aims to launch joint online and offline courses, promote student exchanges, offer training programmes, and collaborate on curriculum development.

This partnership aims to equip future generations with the skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving world shaped by modern technology, preparing them to seize new opportunities. It also marks a significant step in enhancing academic collaboration and developing highly skilled scholars.

The agreement, signed on Wednesday in Lao capital Vientiane, further strengthens the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. It also includes provisions for periodic review meetings to assess progress, with both parties committed to securing funding for their initiatives.

This partnership is seen as a significant step toward advancing the educational and technological sectors of both nations, said the report. - Xinhua
