MANILA: Three Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Teams (PEMATs) are on standby to assist in post-earthquake response operations in Myanmar and Thailand, the country’s Department of Health (DOH) said on Saturday (March 29), Philippines News Agency (PNA) reported.

Following the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and parts of neighbouring Thailand, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa instructed the PEMATs to be ready for deployment once international coordination protocols with the affected countries are completed and a formal request is received.
