Laos and Thailand collaborate to promote zoo tourism

VIENTIANE: The Phongsavanh Group (PSVG) of Laos has signed an agreement with the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand to cooperate in services related to zoo tourism in the two countries.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for this cooperation was signed at Thailand’s Khon Kaen Zoo by the Deputy of Phongsavanh Group’s Board of Members, Sengdao Bouphakonekham, and the Director General of the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand, Attapon Srihayrun.

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Deputy Managing Director of Phongsavanh Bank, Daly Pholsena, and the Director of Khonkaen Zoo, Tipawadee Kittikoon.

The MoU was finalised on the basis of a mutual agreement between the two sides to provide mutual support in business, especially in facilitating an increasing number of tourists and visitors travelling between Laos and Thailand, located on the two sides of the Mekong river, Sengdao said.

For zoo tourism, customers can use the Hi App mobile banking application of Phongsavanh Group of Companies at the Khao Khieo Zoo in Chonburi province, Chiang Mai Zoo, Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, Songkhla Zoo, Ubon Ratchathani Zoo and the Zoological Society of Thailand’s Khon Kaen Zoo in Thailand.

The signing of the MoU between the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand and Phongsavanh Group is a good opportunity for the bank to expand its services and make them more extensive and diverse in terms of products and to forge relationships with more business partners.

Sengdao hoped the MoU will strengthen the good relationship between Phongsavanh Group and the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand, as well as the two countries.

The management team of PSVG believes this new collaboration reaffirms their commitment to further promote the development of the economy and support for the community in Laos. - Vientiane Times/ANN
