Indonesia prepares for over 146 million travellers during Eid holiday rush


JAKARTA: Indonesia’s Transportation Ministry has forecast that 52 per cent of the country’s population, or approximately 146.48 million people, will be travelling during the 2025 Eid holiday.

Movement from Java Island is expected to account for 51.3 per cent, or around 81.5 million people, with the majority of travellers originating from West Java, East Java, and Central Java, according to the ministry’s statement.
