Thai police chief orders heightened security at key sites after Uyghur repatriation


BANGKOK: The Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police stated that authorities are monitoring key locations after Thailand sent 40 Uighurs to China, ensuring it does not repeat past incidents. emphasising that the process was not forced and there was no resistance.

Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet (pic), National Police Chief, revealed on Thursday (Feb 27) at the National Police Headquarters that the repatriation of Uyghur refugees to China was carried out by the Royal Thai Police in cooperation with the National Security Council (NSC), which received an official request from the Chinese government for their return.
