Philippines says US military funding exempted from aid freeze


MANILA: Part of the military assistance from the US to the Philippines has been exempted from the Trump administration’s freeze on foreign aid, the South-East Asian nation said.

"The Philippines has been informed of the waiver issued to a portion of the US foreign military financing for the Philippines,” Manila’s Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday (Feb 24), without giving details.
