JAKARTA: Five people have died and several others have been injured as a result of landslides and flooding caused by heavy rainfall across Indonesia, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported, as the country enters the final week of January.

According to BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari, emergency response teams have been deployed to the affected regions to assist local communities and continue search-and-rescue efforts.
