NAGANO, (Japan): (Bernama-Kyodo) Multiple people were stabbed on Wednesday (Jan 22) evening at a train station in central Japan, a hub of transport to ski areas, leaving one man with no vital signs, while the male suspect fled the scene, Kyodo News reported local police said.

Police were notified of the incident at around 8pm local time at JR Nagano Station, with at least one victim saying that they were not acquainted with the attacker, according to the report.

The suspect, who is believed to be in possession of a bladed object, is of slim build, between 165 and 175 centimetres tall, and looked to be in his 40s, according to witnesses. - Bernama-Kyodo
