Brunei police investigating viral bullying video that shows young boy assaulted by many others

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Women and Child Abuse Investigation Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) is actively investigating a viral video showing a bullying incident involving a male victim.

The case was reported to the Kuala Belait Police Station on January 19, 2025.

The videos depict a teenage male victim being physically assaulted by several other teenage males. The victim was repeatedly struck with hands and feet, without the use of any objects.

Police have initiated an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code, Chapter 22, which addresses causing and inflicting injury.

The RBPF emphasises the importance of avoiding bullying behaviors, particularly among school students, as such actions can escalate into criminal offenses.

The police also urge parents to monitor and remain vigilant about their children’s behavior and social interactions. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
