Blackpink's Lisa ushers in 2025 at Bangkok countdown


BANGKOK: K-pop sensation Lalisa 'Lisa' Manobal headlined the mini concert in the “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2025” event at IconSiam, Bangkok's premier shopping centre by the Chao Phraya River on Tuesday (Dec 31) night as 2024 gave way to 2025.

The global star from Blackpink girl group rocked her fans in a 30-minute show starting at 11.20pm. Lisa performed all her hit singles including “Lalisa”, “Money”, “New Woman”, “Rockstar” and “Moonlit Floor” before counting down to the New Year together with her fans in Thailand and around the world.

According to the organiser, Lisa’s performance was broadcast to a billboard in Times Square, New York and was covered by CNN, BBC, and ABC News to worldwide audiences.

Also joining the mini concert were leading Thai artists Phrimaphaa “Nok” Khornrojjanachawin, Tanont Chumroen, Putthipong “Billkin” Assaratanakul, Krit “PP” Amnuaydechkorn, ATLAS, 4EVE, Jeff Satur, and Palitchoke “Peck” Ayanaputra, as well as over 60 dancers.

The highlight of the night was the series of eco-friendly firework shows from the west bank of the Chao Phraya River spanning 1,400 metres, concluding three days and three nights of continuous celebration. - The Nation/ANN
