Myanmar national injured in wild elephant attack in Malaysia returns home

YANGON: A Myanmar national who was injured in a wild elephant attack in Malaysia has been safely repatriated, according to the Myanmar Social Welfare Association (Malaysia).

Approximately two months ago, Ko Aung Myint, a rubber scraper from Kyauktaw, Rakhine State, was attacked by a wild elephant while working at a rubber plantation.

He sustained multiple injuries, including broken bones in his right arm and left leg, and was hospitalised for intensive treatment.

Ko Aung Myint, who was in the intensive care unit (ICU) following the attack, was repatriated to Myanmar after his family requested assistance.

Following the request, the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur coordinated his return.

On Dec 25, he was flown back to Myanmar under close supervision, with support from the Myanmar Social Welfare Association. - Eleven Media/ANN
