Vietnam targets export growth of 12% in 2025, the government added.

Vietnam's aquatic exports reached US$10 billion in 2024, driven by shrimp and pangasius, Vietnam News Agency reported on Tuesday, citing the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

Shrimp and pangasius accounted for 60 per cent of the total revenues, the report said.

Shrimp's overseas shipments climbed 16.7 per cent to US$4 billion this year, while pangasius export revenues increased 8.9 per cent to US$2 billion compared to 2023.

Despite raw material shortages, tuna exports hit US$1 billion,, up 18 per cent year on year.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said Vietnamese seafood companies were increasingly showcasing their capabilities in advanced processing and high-quality production, laying a foundation for the sector to exceed US$10 billion in 2025 toward the goal of US$11 billion. - XInhua
