Brunei Sultan highlights responsible digital citizenship and mental health well-being

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei King Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah has urged Bruneian students abroad to embrace responsible digital citizenship and prioritise mental health as they navigate their academic and personal journeys abroad.

Delivering a titah during a Get-Together ceremony with Brunei citizens and residents in the UK and Ireland at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, His Majesty stressed the importance of using technology wisely and maintaining ethical behavior in the digital realm.

His Majesty said that students must become responsible and ethical digital citizens to ensure safety and success.

Sultan Hassanal also underscored the importance of mental health, urging students to seek help if needed and to maintain open communication with their families.

The Brunei King emphasised that caring for both mental and physical well-being is crucial for academic and personal success.

His Majesty also cautioned against activities that could jeopardize the students’ future and uphold religious teachings and values.

In the titah, His Majesty also highlighted the critical role of students as national leaders and agents of change who will contribute to realising Brunei’s aspirations under Wawasan 2035. His Majesty encouraged them to make the most of their experiences abroad to broaden their perspectives and enhance their skills.

The diverse cultures, knowledge, and conditions that the students are exposed to, Sultan Hassanal remarked, can develop their minds and prepare them to become determined and knowledgeable leaders capable of overcoming future challenges. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
