Building fire kills seven in Sangzhi county of Hunan province

BEIJING: Seven people have died after a residential building caught on fire on Saturday (Nov 16) morning in Sangzhi county, Hunan province, according to the statement from the county government on Wechat account.

The fire broke out at 5.02am on Saturday.

Two stories of the five-story building were engulfed in flames with an area of about 160 square meters.

The fire has been put out.

Firefighters and emergency response personnel rushed to the scene. Seven people were found dead, it said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, it added. - China Daily/ANN
