Cardiovascular disease leading cause of death in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Brunei Darussalam. In 2023, there were 520 deaths caused by cardiovascular diseases, of which 31 per cent were premature deaths.

This was a five-per-cent increase over 2012. Meanwhile, 1,722 individuals were hospitalised with cardiovascular disease diagnoses.
