DONG NAI: Bach Dang 2 Bridge, which connects Dong Nai Province with Binh Duong Province, was opened for traffic on Monday (Sept 2).

The bridge is one of the key traffic projects to boost connectivity in southeastern Việt Nam, and has been long-awaited by many locals.

The project aims to facilitate the transportation of goods and the socio-economic development of the two localities.

The length of Bach Dang 2 Bridge and the two roads leading to it on each side total around 2.8km. The bridge itself is 17m wide and has four lanes.

It began construction in late 2021 with an investment of VNĐ490 billion (US$19.7 million) from the budgets of Binh Duong and Dong Nai. It was supposed to be finished and put into service in Q1 of 2023, but it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and land clearance issues.

Construction staff will return on Sept 3 to finish the last steps such as road surface markings and lighting. – Vietnam News/ANN
