Vivian Balakrishnan attends Asean foreign ministers’ meetings in Laos


SINGAPORE: Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan (pic) will travel to Laos to attend the Asean Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Asean Regional Forum, and other related meetings from July 23 to July 27.

While in Vientiane, he and his Asean counterparts will review the bloc’s community-building efforts and discuss its regional economic integration agenda, as well as progress in areas such as the digital and green economies.

During the week, Asean foreign ministers will also engage with their counterparts from dialogue partners like China, the European Union, the United States, Korea and Japan.

Dr Balakrishnan and his counterparts will discuss ways to work together for regional peace and stability amid ongoing geopolitical developments. - The Straits Times/ANN
