PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet has announced that the government intends to prioritise upgrades to existing rail lines rather than the construction of a new high-speed network. He also stressed the kingdom’s ambition to turn Preah Sihanouk into a regional logistic hub.
While speaking to workers at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Wednesday (May 1), Manet said the current priorities are the two rail lines which connect Phnom Penh to Poipet and Phnom Penh to Preah Sihanouk province. The lines were built in the 1930s.
