Huge explosion kills at least five at Vietnam's wood company

HANOI: At least five people died on Wednesday (May 1) morning after a huge explosion at a wood manufacturing company in Vietnam's southern province of Dong Nai, said a media report.

The incident occurred at 8:30am. local time in the province's Vinh Cuu district and was suspectedly caused by a boiler malfunction.

According to the Vietnam News Agency report, more than 10 people were injured including five deaths.

As of 10am, the provincial general hospital received five victims including one in a critical condition.

Hospital sources said that due to multiple injuries, the hospital mobilized all its staff members to work in saving the injured, according to a VnExpress report.
